
Florida Tech Online
The Florida Technical University was founded in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College, in 1966 the schools name was changed to its present title. Florida Tech online has been available since 2005 and represents more than half of the student body population. The school is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the Computer Science Accreditation Commission, the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society, the Council on Aviation Accreditation, the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI).
Online Application Process
Students wishing to study for their online degree course at Florida Tech online should apply either online or through one of the universities many campuses and satellite campuses. The application process is the same of on and offline students.
Requirements include a transcript that indicates a high school curriculum, an essay (see website for requirements) as well as SAT or ACT scores. A strict admissions test is applied to all students in order to ascertain that they are prepared to undergo a rigorous learning experience.
Students are given the opportunity to, but are not required to, take a tour of campus and learning facilities and there is no required student interview.
While the school accepts students with G.E.D. or Homeschooled students, it is required that they present test scores as well as proof of secondary school education. It is highly recommended to submit SAT II scores during an application of this kind.

Online Classroom
Florida Tech Online features six individual colleges; the College of Aeronautics, College of Engineering, Nathan M. Bisk College of Business, College of Psychology and Liberal Arts, College of Science, and University College. Associates, Bachelors and Masters Degrees are offered for each of these schools and each of these programs may be taken online through eight or fifteen week courses.
Online study at the Florida Technical University involves receiving study material, coursework assignments and even lectures via online media such as audio, video and documents.
Student Aid
Aid is available for students who study at Florida Tech online. High school students wishing to qualify for full student tuition coverage should sign up before February first during their senior high school year.
Programs available include full scholarships Federal, State and Private/Personal as well as loans, grants and tuition coverage/reimbursement under the 50% law.

Around 9,000 students attend Florida Tech University with more than 52% of those attending Florida Tech Online, the school as a 59% acceptance/admissions rate and a 69% graduation rate. The school is widely lauded as one of the best colleges online and offline with a high quality education that each student must work to achieve. Degrees given online are exactly the same as those given to on-campus students and are therefore equally respected in the job market. Students attending Florida Tech Online often retain full time jobs so that they may earn their degree while working or spending time with family.
